Routine Travertine Maintenance
Travertine Tiles | Travertine Bathroom Furniture | Why Choose Travertine? | What is Travertine? | Travertine Maintenance

Routine maintenance of travertine is simply regular washing using pH neutral detergents such as a weak solution of washing up liquid. Periodically, about once every year with normal daily use, travertine floors travertine baths, basins and furniture should be resealed. Re-sealing clean travertine is very, very easy and requires no more skill than being able to wipe a cloth dampened with sealer across the floor and leave it to dry.

For more substantial cleaning stronger alkaline detergents and abrasive compounds specifically for stone are readily available, always follow manufacturers instructions and always test on a small area first if in doubt. Remember also that after heavy cleaning the surface should be resealed.
