Installation and Care of Victoria and Albert Freestanding Baths

All baths are supplied with the appropriate manufacturers instructions for installation and care. The information provided here is given as a general guide and should never be used as a substitute for those instructions.

Attach metal the feet to the bath as follows

1. Turn the bath upside down.
2. Apply one quarter of the silicon in thin beads to the contact area of the foot.
3. Align the foot and press firmly into position forcing it to bed down.
4. Thread a washer onto the bolt provided and hand tighten, use a screwdriver for a final 1/4. You must not overtighten as this can cause the thread into which the bolt is being tightened to strip.

Painting Your Bath

Your bath exterior can be easily painted using the following procedure.

1. Slightly sand the area to be painted with a fine abrasive paper to form a key.
2. Ensure the surface to be painted is clean and clear of any dust.
3. Mark with a pencil the outline of each foot on the bath, you must not paint over this area as it could result in poor adhesion and possible failure.
4. Using either oil or water based paint and following the manufacturers instructions apply the paint to the bath. Using a small roller or brush apply two topcoats. The feet can be painted similarly but take care not to paint the inside of the feet as this may prevent correct adhesion to the bath. 5. You may, to complete the bath, apply a coat of water or oil based varnish (depending on the type of paint used) to add further protection.

Caring For Your Bath

The acrylic is guaranteed for life against failure caused by a manufacturing fault or defect. Your bath is manufactured to the highest standards and will give very many years of use and maintain its good looks providing it is cared for.

1. Clean immediately after each use using soap and warm water. Replace worn washers on dripping taps to prevent lime deposition particularly in hard water areas.
2. Do not use abrasive or gritty cleaners when cleaning your bath.
3. Do not allow your bath to come into contact with organic solvents such as some dry cleaning agents and paint strippers.
4. Do not allow burning cigarettes to come into contact with the surface of the bath as it may be damaged.
